I have a Roubaix and a Tarmac S-Works. While the tarmac is very smooth over the usually smooth roads I ride, the Roubaix (the SL4 isn't as plush as older Roubaix models) still has more compliance over rougher roads (and road cracks/gaps) and after 30-40 miles, the difference is evident if rougher roads are in the mix. I have the Tarmac on tubeless tires (amazingly smooth ride) and am getting ready to switch to tubes for a while. I love the Tarmac but another difference is that the handling is a lot quicker than the Roubaix. So if fatigued, you have to pay much more attention on the fast mountain descents we have here. Smaller changes in input result in more exaggerated results and they can catch you off-guard if very fatigued or not expecting it. The handling is very sharp compared to the Roubaix, which is extremely stable and long. This is my experience, given the limited bikes I have owned.
