I enjoy the A&S board. Sometimes it makes sense, sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's maddening, and some times it just leaves me shaking my head. There is so much worry in here about helmets, no brake fixies, pickup trucks, dead cyclist memorials, and a lot of other hand-wringing that I felt it would be nice to re-set everyone's safety thermostat.
Here is a little 13 minute video that illustrates exactly what is possible when you put a human being on a bicycle who knows how to handle one, and how every little digression or "blown" red light does not result in immediate death for the cyclist or anyone else for that matter. In fact, it will seem almost impossible for a cyclist who is paying attention to get killed on a bike after watching this.
I'm betting most here won't make it through the first five minutes.
