Shimano M732 cantilevers

I found some, and they're pretty. But the real question is: do they work well? Or are modern offerings (say, CX-70, or even Tektro CR-710) just a lot better.

With many companies one simply assumes that the old product went out of production because something better was made. With Shimano it's a total crap-shoot. Maybe they made something better, maybe it was just another one of their random decisions, or maybe part of their planned obsolescence that seems to overtake many good parts.

Thoughts?
