Talk to your bike shop about swapping wheels as he will be able to sell the wheels fairly easily, or put them on another bike. he can swap the gears from your bike's back wheel to the new wheel.

You might be out $400.00 for wheels if he doesn't discount the price (a 32 spoke rear wheel with a deeper V rim ran me $199.00 and has lasted 1000 miles with only a minor broken spoke). I second working with the bike shop.

a 28 spoke front will work for you, but 32 in the rear will be better.

I currently ride the factory wheels on my Orbea road bike which are 32 spoke wheels made by Orbea with the Shimano 105 hubs and at 360 pounds the front wheel has had not even a broken spoke, but I did just replace all the spokes on my rear wheel.
