This bike is great as a city bike. I ride it on the MuPs with my husband and on the road. It's marketed as a do it all bike and I really think it suits that description. I LOVE this bike even though it's a little wonky.
I don't think I like the brown bar tape. I think I'm going to switch it to black, what do you all think?
So some might wonder why the mishmash in parts. This bike started life as a crazy "hybrid build". It was setup with flat bars, 10sp. With a mix of DA and XTR. It was all road up front and all MTB parts out back. I was running road flat bar shifters. But after building it and riding it that way for several hundred miles, I didn't like it and wanted this to be a proper road setup. So instead of starting over, I just used some of the parts on the bike and this is what I ended up with.

I agree, the brown just doesn't go with the bike at all. However I also disagree on the black even though the black would be a lot better than brown. I think that since you have white saddle you should have white bar tape due to the black hoods. Problem with white bar tape is that it does get dirty looking quick but if you use 409 frequently it will look like new for a long time. Fizik makes the best tape for cleaning grime off easily. Of course this is just my opinion, so take it for what's it worth.
