There was a grand total of exactly two helmets which actually fit my head, and I chose the one I liked better. Most of the helmets there were sized for children, with maybe just the two for adults.
And by two, I don't mean two different styles of helmet, but literally two different helmets to choose from. I hate that Walmart.
You had one more choice than me

I wanted the non-flashy light one, cause it was $5 cheaper, but the hook was bare!
I realized at about 10PM the night before my first charity ride they had a helmet policy, and was stuck running to Meijer (a 24 hour regional grocer/big box store). It was the only one they had that wasn't made for 10 year olds. As I said, it just so happened that it fit my head very well, otherwise it would have been replaced.

Is this normal for all helmets? Or would a more aero helmet be quieter? I'd pay for that alone.
Dunno which you have, but I have a cheapie Schwinn too, and haven't noticed any appreciable difference in noise between that and a wool ball cap (which I wear more frequently than a helmet in colder weather)
