First order of business is a new wheelset. I'm pretty set on the Velocity Comp build of the aileron wheel. However I'm not sure whether I should go 28 or 32 spokes. I weight 175 lbs and while this set of wheels will see mainly road and moderate trail use I want something that can take a beating if I make a wrong (right ) turn and the trail gets hairy. This wheel will primarily use a 38mm barlow pass tire but could see some 32mm or even a 43 Rock n Road.

Would the weight savings be noticeable on the 28 spoke count wheels? Would the 32 be much stronger? I'm not sure what I'm even asking, really. Just give me your thoughts!

Thanks!
5 or 6 gms per spoke. 24 gms per wheel. Tiny weight savings.
