Thanks everyone...
I guess I was hopin to get some 'comparison' comments, sortta along the lines of what Grasshopper noted and qualified with his 'size'.
Particularly from Lemond owners and anyone else who has a frame with a slacker seattube than headtube. I'm very attracted to Lemond like dims, cause I'm in agreement with the general design dims of a slack seattube and slightly longer TT. But I'm open to other marks based on those similar criteria.

I'm particularly interested in your comments, 55/rad, if you can qualify why "Hold a gun to my head and I'll tell you the steel is the one I'd keep if I could only have one." Since you have a flock of Lemonds to compare with.
KHS owners, also anything else you can say would be great.
What prompted this was walkin into a local LBS, some time back, and casually lifting a bare Waterford frame & Fork. Even with expectations of lighter weight, I was astonished by the lightness. So much so that when you lift something, you subliminally 'brace' with some expected 'weight'. Well it was like expecting to pick up an Unabridged dictionary and lifting a paperback instead. I was blown away.
Picking up a finished bike (CF, TI, new steel, whatever) gives a different feel than just a bare frame.
I guess what I'm askin is how significant the improvement is for new steel vs just a new, lighter fork and new wheels.
I guess I won't know until I build one and flog it around a bit. I am on a limited budget, so a waterford or that price range is likely out.
