What kind of BB is it? Cartridge? how old?

Does it happen on both pedal strokes, or just one side? Does it still happen when you pedal out of the saddle? What if you go no hands? What type of handlebars do you have?

If it's happening exactly with each pedal rotation, it can't be chain or FW related unless you're running a 1:1 gear ratio...

Whatever it is, it has to be something on a frequency equal to your pedaling. So that's -- BB, pedals, cranks themselves, chainring, saddle clamp, handlebars.

Do you notice any similar ticking noise when going over bumps?
