and 1998 when it sold for $600 1998 Giant Kronos - BikePedia I love buying old bikes but not at that fraction of the MSRP. The components on a $450 1993 bike are going to be a lot better than on one that sells for that price today. It's just that it should be a lot cheaper to buy an 18-23 year old bike. You can use bikepedia to look up the MSRP for many bikes.

Looks like the seller is a guy who buys up old bikes, cleans them up, and flips them.
