I like the cycling cap because the brim shields my eyes from the sun a bit, keeps some rain from hitting my eyes, and looks better (IMO) than a beanie/scarf type cap when worn sans helmet.
What are the relative humidity levels and temperatures that you ride in where your cap stays completely dry? I'll saturate the above cap, and also have wet gloves and socks (from sweat) riding on really humid mornings (70-80°F, 90-95% humidity, common summer mornings in DE).
I find myself riding before the real heat sets in at about 82° degrees, 80%.
