What really gets me are those people who go to a bicycle shop and spend lots of timetrying different bikes and test riding them and then go and by a bike online. Meanwhile the shop has a slightly used bike on their hands.
The above goes for a lot of accessories/components too; people go to a local shop, spend a lot time with a staff member asking questions and looking at and handling the stuff to figure out what they really want then go to the internet to buy it.

Agreed. If my mind has been made up to purchase something I am holding in my hands at a local shop, it is getting bought there. I've never known how to handle spending time looking at stuff at a shop, realizing I wanted none of it, and excluding if from my online options, though, or something like my shoes, where I found and liked a particular model which they nor their distributor carried in my size and I just went and bought online. Felt bad for using them as a showroom to rule out options, even if they didn't have what I wanted.
