Answer from Kask regarding MIPS
Hello, I wrote to kask asking if they were going to implant MIPS in their helmets, this was the answer. Its interesting that no one really knows if MIPS is an actual advantage, I think MIPS makes sense and it wont hurt, the only lack is that it limits the choice of helmets.
Can anyone proves that MIPS works?
"thanks for writing us and for your interest in our helmets, we will not implant the MIPS on our helmets for several reasons, but first of all because after 4 years that this technology is on the market, it is still not proved that it make the helmet safer, after various test done internally and with external company and safety certification agency we realized that it doesn’t really add any value to the security of the helmet, while for sure it add weight and provide less comfort to the helmet. So for the reason above and various other that I am not mentioning, MIPS will not be applied to our helmets as we don’t believe that this technology will add any value to our products, except for the fact that is a powerful marketing tool.
We are on the other side developing a new technology to improve the safeness of the helmet."
