Based on my past transactions, I think what is happening is the site is estimating the price in CAD (or USD) but the actual billing is done in Pounds with the conversion done by the bank.
The last order I made with CRC I was quoted and charged in $CDN, directly by CRC. CRC (and other sites) specifically advertise that they will charge you in the currency of your choice (as long as they support that currency). Other sites say they will estimate in your currency, but charge in Pounds.
