I have a Diverge Sport and was thinking of upgrading the Expert. Saw the Expert X1 with the 1 x 11 at the LBS this weekend. Very nice! I am a little leery. I live in the mountains of northcentral PA and do a lot of climbing. I swapped out my original cassette and put a 12-36 so my lightest gear is slightly less than a 1:1.

Could you add a from deraileur to the Expert X1 if you wanted to go back to a double or do you also have to change the rear cassette?

Hey. Not many hills here in Illinois- haven't even used the top two sprockets where there is the biggest gap - but plan to do some fun soon in Wisconsin or Palos Hills area. Also basically one ride so far because of my medical issue. Hope to commute with it tomorrow though.


As someone already answered - the X1 has the front derailleur bracket and internal routing for the cable. Probably the rest of the drivetrain and brake lever.
