Ugly 1971 Raleigh Competition frameset, 21-1/2"

This began its life as one of those cool lilac Competitions. Sadly, by the time I found it, someone had drenched it in bad acid trip yellow. I sprayed it with auto primer so I wouldn't have to look at it.

I had all sorts of ideas of what I might do with this frame, but ultimately I decided it was a bit too short, and a bit too long for my use.

Full Reynolds 531 frame and fork. Seat tube 21-1/2" ctt. Top tube 22-1/4" ctc. Zeus fork ends and dropouts with adjusters. Eyelets front and rear.

There is a small crack on the seat lug. The chrome has some defects, the worst of which by far is shown in the pics. It looks straight and in good shape otherwise; no dents or dings and no internal corrosion to speak of.

The word is it should take a 27.2mm seatpost, but I worked at it for a while with a flex hone and no-go. I would use a 27.0 and be done with it.

Hope someone can make use of this and turn it into something good.

[edit] The bike came to me with a Sugino BB and a headset I can't ID. I will include those but you will need to supply bearings.

$80 shipped in the CONUS.
