I've used a Showers Pass Elite 2.1 jacket for several years and it's still as waterproof as ever. You might want to send an email to Showers Pass through their website. It sounds like the waterproofing on your jacket might be faulty. I use my SP Elite as a winter jacket as well as rain coat, and it gets a lot of use because I commute year-round. It's the best rain jacket I've found.
