Bikes: Cannondale CAAD9, Ritchey Breakaway Cross, Nashbar X-frame bike, Bike Friday Haul-a-Day, Surly Pugsley.

140. I don't see weight being a huge issue for 28 spokes. I've ridden less with no issues, but I generally do prefer 32 rear, 28 front.

Otherwise, it sounds like 3x will work on this hub/rim combo.
