FWIW, My 1984 Schwinn le tour has the serial number on the bottom bracket shell; it's a Greenville, Mississippi built Schwinn. The serial number starts with "SG4"
My frame begins with "sf4" what could you tell me about it? The plaque on the front reads schwinn chicago with a stamp that reads 1734
