Thanks, that took me back. I did a short stint as an actuary's flunky at John Hancock during the 1974 recession, when the cranes were gone but windows were popping out... actually, some of them were getting shot out, by a hotheaded architecture critic in the South End who would take his .308 up on the roof of his brownstone of an evening, until one of his neighbors got tired of the joke and the noise and made a phone call to District 4. I worked in the Hancock Tower itself briefly, before wandering off to Route 128 when conditions improved: it was a surreal environment, and sometimes had fierce winds at the base... I remember escorting a little old lady through the wind tunnel on a particularly blustery day.
