Removing the freewheel seems easy.

If it has been on there forever, it will be tight.
When you lock the tool in the vice, set the wheel & freewheel on top, and then turn the wheel
what happens is the protruding two sections of metal (of removal tool)
dig into the slots of the freewheel.

In very short time, the tool will eat into the soft freewheel metal
and really mess it up badly.
How do I know this?
I've had my PX-10 for 44 years and have done everything maintenance wise.
I even have a Cyclo French freewheel removal, as well as the Park Tool FR-2.

I recommend taking the wheel to 'the curmudgeon'- he'll have the freewheel loose in a couple minutes, just partly damaged, nothing like if you try it yourself.
Maybe he won't even charge you, recognizing your wisdom in letting him do it.

Putting the freewheel back on, just hand tighten it, when you pedal that will tighten it.
Anti- seize won't hurt the threads.
