Hi,

I recently gifted and now have received back this bike http://www.bikeforums.net/bicycle-me...gift-bike.html

I was thinking this would be a good bike to do touring on because:

a) It puts together very well and very reliable. I put 8500 miles on it, the new owner 5000 miles and everything still works flawlessly.
b) It's simple enough that I can fix it if things go wrong.
c) It's not too heavy (21 pounds) but everything feels sturdy.
d) It's deathly quiet and I can see myself riding it for days on end.
e) It can fit 30mm tires
f) It has eyeless for front and back racks and braze-ons as well.

My main concern is will the frame be able to hold front and back panniers with say 50 pounds on them?

Can anyone see anything wrong with outfitting this bike with a rack and panniers for touring?
