Having worked in carpentry for many years I saw and heard about a thousand injury stories. My all time favorite was the guy who was cutting plywood with a skilsaw. Another guy walked by and said "you're not cutting all the way through." The first guy said "yes I am," and ran his hand along the bottom of the cut to check - directly beneath the running saw. He had the saw set just right and kerfed out his fingers about 1/32" deep.
