I am saying that the mantra from the LBS contingent that all bike purchases, whatever the source, require servicing at an LBS before riding to assure that the bike is safe, "tuned", "adjusted" "fitted" or whatever, is just so much exaggerated baloney concocted to put some money in the pockets of Local Bicycle Store owners and mechanics; mechanics who may or may not be any more competent or careful than the assemblers at the Local Bigbox Store.
