Birthday coming so picked a day with best weather to ride a favorite route and increase mileage to 65 for the first time this year. 70s and partial cloudy. Ride into Mt Rainier Natl Park at the Carbon River Entrance. To get to the desired mileage, the start was in Orting to Buckley (with the tasteful Veterans Memorial) to Wilkeson, then Carbonado and into the Park. The Carbon River is primarily a glacial melt river and the water is not clear. The DeRosa was a perfect conveyance - light wheels for climbing (Mavic GEL280/GL330 w/ tubies), solid racer handling for the downhills, all day comfort due to excellent fit. Additionally, I like BIG trees.
