Do you have a Performance or REI near by you. Go and ride some of their bikes. The performance stores typically let you take the bike out for a good bit of time to feel it out but you'll have to leave a photo id.
I do. Minneapolis has a good LBS scene. There's just a lot of similar inventory between shops. REI carries Cannondale and I'm interested in trying one of the new CAAD12's along with a Synapse—however I'm uncertain if a CAAD12 would be the right rig. Sounds like a fine bike though.
