I'm over Ti as a material. I mean, if someone were to give me a Ti bike I wouldn't complain, but from my very limited experience it isn't really any lighter weight than any other bike out there. The boutique and custom brands are cool and all, and if you want something special go get a Waterford or other bike being made with True Temper - it won't be available for bike tubing for much longer. Other than that, there is absolutely nothing wrong with going to your LBS, finding the carbon bike you like the best and buying it. They work very well. I have a Synapse and it's been a great bike to me and it should continue to do so for a long, long time.
