What does highly regarded really mean in the context of frames? That the frame doesn't split in half?

All personal tastes, but for me the appeal in steel is having lugs and a smoothly-curved fork.... something that shows the aesthetic touch.

For a $1000 tig jobber, especially at stock sizes, might as well get it from a chinese obm or something closer to the odm chain. or a modenr lightweight carbon.

All I see going for Gunnar is threaded bottom bracket and whatever peace of mind one gets from buying domestically manufactured products
