Hi guys,

I am taking the single speed plunge. Have been on the lookout for awhile now and finally found a bike to tinker on, a 1986 Nishiki Rally. Also considered a Raleigh pursuit.

Anyways, this is a learning process as I try to educate myself on bikes in general. I want to update the bike and plan on putting in a new bottom bracket and single speed crank. I plan go to 700c wheels. Will have to coldset to 130mm.

With that in mind do you guys have suggestions on a decent budget crankset. If I understand things correctly I will need a 68 x 107.

Please correct me if I am wrong. Appreciate the suggestions.
