Update: I put the phone in the thigh of my shorts today (like the way women put a phone in a sports bra). The music didn't cut out. Not my favorite place for the phone, but it helps ID the issue, it appears the Bluetooth is having difficulty communicate through my body while riding. Still seems odd.
