By gripping all four sides of a properly made nipple, it takes a lot more torque to slip than one that only engages 2-3 sides. Some nipples, OTOH, aren't quite square, so they still slip. Hence why I replace all nipples with DT Swiss at the first good excuse to de-tension a wheel.
Thanks for that, I learned something. At first I thought your quote was angry about something but I am glad to see that there was a valid point that I haven't realized. I was trying to visualize a 4 sided spoke wrench and how it would get over the spokes, the picture clearly shows that it can be done.
