I took the Specialized stock tires off my Sirrus and replaced them with Forte AMR+ 25's for the summer - basically a slick tire, minimal tread pattern. Works fine for the summer for my conditions, almost all pavement, with a few miles of well-groomed, packed crushed limestone trails in the local park. Cheap too - $20 each on sale.
However, they gotta come off in October, I wouldn't want to hit a patch of ice with them.
what tires give you traction on ice??
