In many of the group rides I partake in, the speed is just too high for someone to sit on the front continually like that. Fiesta Worlds routinely avg's 27-28 for the hour, sometimes as low as 26 mph , but usually not. At those speeds, amateurs like myself have to be constantly rotating - people don't take long pulls, you pull through at the front if you can and then roll into the receding line right away.
