[MENTION=430729]hankaye[/MENTION], If you haven't already, you should look at all the bikes in this thread. You will see bar positions all over the place. Bar height and reach depends a lot of things (body dimensions, fitness, flexibility, terrain, distance, comfort vs. aero). That's why nobody on the internet can give you a straight answer on what's going to work for you. If you have other drop bar bikes that you can ride comfortably in the drops you can use those as a point of reference for what's comfortable when you setup your dirt-drop. If this is your first drop bar, I would start with the top of the bar level with the saddle and make adjustments from there. Some people start out with an adjustable stem to figure out what feels right then swap it out once they have it dialed in. Also keep in mind that a lot of the pictures you see of the original dirt drops are racers who likely have a different level of fitness, flexibility and need for comfort than you do.
