Where did you find the Trail 2 for 1k USD?
I bought it at Bike America. It was on sale for $1000, regular price $1350 (Cannondale Trail 2, 2016 Large 27.5)
I have now ridden it 3 or 4 hundred miles of trail riding (mostly singletrack) and I do like it.
My modifications so far:
Changed the tires to Continental Race Kings 27.5 x 2.2" (just because I think they have lower rolling resistance).
Put on a shorter Stem (was 100mm, change to 70mm) to pull the bar back a little closer to me.
Wore out a chain and replaced it.
