I agree that Randy's site is a good starting point, I must have read through many of his sections a hundred times over the last 8 years. And, Lotek's web site directory thread is spot on as far as making it available. Biggest problem I see is that once you make a thread stuck it tends to become ignored and overlooked. We had this problem in the 50+ forum over topics that some wanted as stickies. The group buy of the 50+ kit is one that I have been involved with, RonH was kind enough to make it a temporary stickied thread, but it still would get overlooked when it was stuck.
Its a good idea that is difficult to make happen, unless it has a main body, and some good links, it isn't worth the trouble, and getting everyone to agree on what is listed, or agree on something being superfluous, is difficult in these threads. The only one I have seen that worked really well is the directory of Sheldon Brown links that he and a few others had a hand n putting together, in the Mechanics Forum. It almost has to be locked to stop disagreements, and opinions get strong in this topic.
I wish the member that teaks it on, if the staff approves, all the best, and would gladly help compile things, if it was needed.
