Its really great, and long lol I read through the entire thing and was in the process of doing this to my own hardrock but then i found my road bike and decided not to. Plus the size of my hardrock, I wasnt sure if it would work. This thread has a couple hardrocks, and other specialized mtbs in it too, plus some great ideas. There is of course the touring forum also which is fun to look through.
Thanks for providing the link. It really is a thread worth looking at. It inspired me, and I'm (slowly) building up a '94 Stumpjumper as a drop bar conversion. The Hardrock (at least mine and abbynormal's) have more eyelets, and might be better candidates for tourer/commuter conversions. In my case, the Stumpjumper has a TT the same length as my road bike, so I'm thinking the fit might be a little easier to dial in.
