Here's my Hardrock bought new by my children many, many years ago for Father's Day. It probably has 50,000+ miles on the frame. I think I've had it since '90. All components replaced except the headset. Two years ago I did over 10,000 miles in a year on it training for the Deathride in Markleville. Great bike and still have it. However, I bought a Defy to do the DR and to be more comfortable. The HR always felt like it was too small. I still ride it every once in a while on an errand. In my opinion you can't go wrong having bought one and using it for miles of riding.
That's amazing, no reason I can't have mine awhile then
