I have heard good things about Aero tech, but never tried them myself. For me, it was just trial and error. My go to shorts right now are a pair of Gore, and a pair of Specialized, both retail for around $100 but purchased on sale for less. I also have a pair of bibs that I bought recently that I am slowly working into the rotation, but unlike some, I don't find them any more, or less comfortable than a decent pair of shorts.
