Looking for "fresh" info on beta blockers and exercise/bp goals
I recently had surgery that has resulted in being prescribed additional BP meds. I'm taking 25mg of beta blocker (twice daily) in addition to the ACE inhibitors I had taken for 20 or more years.
I've quickly discovered how the BBs affect my HR and exercise intensity. I've also discovered that I can sort of "exercise" the meds right out of my system.
I'd like to hear any comments and experiences about target BP numbers of other effects cyclists deal with to maintain acceptable cycling ability as well as healthy HR lowering or BP lowering results.
I can't decide if I should take it easy and leave the hard efforts alone, or go ahead and ride like a used to do and let the BP lay where it may.......
