I picked up an excellent condition Defy 1 very reasonably. Mounts for a rear rack, bosses for dual water bottles and one is mounted low for a 32 ounces. With a bar bag, possibly a frame bag, and modest sized panniers and a total load of say 30-35 pounds..perfect for touring. Stripped it weighs a tad under 20 and is a blast to ride on the flats & local steep grades because of the 50-39-30 triple with the 12-30 cassette, that's a 1:1 low of 26". Looks to accept 28mm tires. I'm so looking forward to overnight rides here on the coast and and say a Willapa to SF Bay oyster tour. It hangs not far from my 43 year old Moto B Grand Jubillee that hauled my ass all over hell and gone. Of course I look at the Stronglight 52-42 and wonder how the heck I survived those hills with 14-26 out back (ok I was a lot younger and lighter). Funny, but backpacking, I thought nothing of 70+ pounds strapped on. But I liked the leaner weights on a bicycle.
