I still actually like the regular 23 mm tires unless I have to be on anything with pea gravel. I do not notice a huge different in the ride of wider tires but have drop my psi down for years ago to 100-110 fr and rear. Road my Verdestein Tri comps today that are actually around 21 mm and look skinning compared to my Conti Grand 4
Pr 2 at 23. These tires roll smooth as the wider stuff but not on bad pavement.
I don't like the buried cable system they do look neater and clean but are a pain the change out not nearly like the old external cables.
I really have no use for tubeless tires the old clincher seem to be just find and with a light tube and Conti GP 2's they ride very good.
I suppose much of this depends on the conditions we ride in and the elements but being an old roadie I find maybe marketing is simply getting in the way. I don't see any need for disk brakes either I suppose the traditional may dry up in the near future?
I'm with you brother, and love my 700x23 tubulars.
