Googeling I found this:
"Fitting a front derailleur is quite easy. Steve Parry makes a front derailleur bracket, I fitted one to Mrs LWaB's Brompton about seven years ago to run double chainrings with the five speed hub. Channel Wasson in the USA makes a front derailleur bracket also. I'm not sure it is so necessary now that Brompton has a wide-range 2 x 3 system.
If you are starting from scratch, fitting front and rear derailleurs is doable. Google for Ultimate Folding Bike and Len Rubin. Don't expect it to be cheap, quick or easy. It is the opposite of all of them."
