The local bike shop in Thunder Bay will cut spokes to the exact length you need. I am a pretty fussy guy, when it comes to building bicycles and I prefer to use proper spokes lengths.

If the spoke it too long, it might bottom out on the nipple making any truing effort impossible. I have run up against this a few times, hence I go with the right spokes the first time now.
