I've been on a beta blocker for decades (or maybe it just seems that way). I'm always tired. In the last few months it was seeming to be worse, so at my last annual physical I talked with the Dr about it. and he suggested stopping the beta blocker for 3 weeks. Huge difference. within a week my fatigue was gone.

I also swim twice a week. my average lap times when taking the BB were 2:14 per 100 yds. Without the BB the lap times went to 1:58 per 100 yds. So something like 10-11% performance difference. Unfortunately, my BP shot up when not on the beta blocker so the DR had me go back on them.

The Dr mentioned that if I could lose 20-25lbs then perhaps I could go off the BB for good. So far I haven't been successful in doing that.

I'm 62yo.
