If you'd asked for advice, I believe you'd find that almost everyone is totally satisified with their carbon fiber bike. Not 100%, but close to it. Your story is sad, but certainly not common in my personal experience. And metal bikes get damaged to the point of needing repair. The argument will be: how much force would it have taken to bend a metal tube to make it unrideable compared to this. I don't know the answer, but it can certainly happen.
