I took XR and Wellbutrin for severe depression. Both worked well. When I stopped taking Wellbutrin, as I recall, I just stopped taking it, with the doctor's agreement, of course. I came off that fine. Like your Effexor weaning, it kind of drove me nuts a few times, but I hated the on med side effects more than the weaning, so I worked through it.
