Changing bikes after one week may / may not be expensive - if you can get appropriate value for the CX then I would see the Quick as more appropriate for 90% road use.

I say this as someone who owns a 2012 Quick SL1. Since buying my Synapse I have been concentrating on that bike this year. However, I took out the Quick for a spin with my good wife just this afternoon - just loved riding it again (running on 35mm Marathon Supreme tires at 75/85 front/rear pressure- soo smooth ) and quite capable of stretches on the types of trails I am interested in trying occasionally.
