Other than removing the FD and cable, which doesn't require anything new, you don't need to do anything.

You might remove the outer ring, but you'll need to make up it's thickness or buy "track" chainring bolts. If you want to do something nice, file off all the teeth on the outer ring, and bevel the rim toward the inside, and you'll have a nice chain guard, which will also prevent derailing to the outside.
