I just refreshed my bike and added a
porteur rack! I had a basket and it was a little too small. It was hard to put my backpack in. More tricky was my tote bag I use for work. It barely fit if I had my computer. And it is sort of hard to strap a backpack to a rear rack. Took a lot of time. And there were other days I had things like takeout and leftovers. These didn't work with the basket and my purse. Or on the days I did a last minute grocery run.
So I decided the porteur rack, with the bigger platform, was the way to go.
It has been 2 weeks now, and it has worked great so far. Backpack, purses of all sizes, groceries, and takeout handled with ease. Now I can worry less about the loads I have and those random stops I make along the way. And i don't have to deal with my pannier basket, which is hard to park in some bike racks.
Do you use a porteur rack? Do you love it?
